Supported TFMs going forward #1220
Description
After some thinking, reading #1155 and looking at other libraries and providers in ecosystem, this is how supported TFMs are going to look like in FirebirdClient going froward:
- Current 10.x line is last line supporting .NET Framework. Latest version will be forked into separate branch and will not receive any new features. Only critical security updates will be considered.
- FirebirdClient will support currently supported .NET versions at the time of release. Unsupported .NET versions will be dropped in next minor version.
Note: EF6 provider is already in maintenance mode, no change here.
Note: EF Core provider follows target of the upstream package.
I'm sure some people will find these "unacceptable" for project(s) they are working on, but this is to ensure healthy life (and codebase) of provider moving forward, especially around new .NET features and improvements.
In upcoming days/weeks I'll go through the codebase making adjustments and cleanup
