Inquiry on Maintenance, Future Releases, and Security Handling of python-hpilo

Hello Team,

We are planning to use python-hpilo as a third-party dependency in our environment. We noticed that the last release (v4.4.3) was published in early 2021 and there have been no updates since then.

Could you kindly confirm the following:

1. Whether the project is still actively maintained.
2. If there is a roadmap or plan for future releases.
3. How security issues are currently handled for this project.
4. Whether security fixes (if any) are backported to older releases.

Your response will help us evaluate the long-term viability of python-hpilo within our stack.

I would advise against it for new projects. I no longer have access to HP hardware, so most updates are just firmware url updates. No feature additions are planned.

I suggest you look at the redfish api.
