I thought that a 14-Segment Display would be useful for those who would like to display letters.

Wouldn't a 16-segment display be better, since it can represent characters more easily as well as taking exactly 2 8-bit inputs or a 16-bit input if that's added.

This is a good idea
I think the 15th input could be used for the minus sign and the 16th input could be used to color what is displayed

I guess the 16th input could also be a decimal point, like most modern 7-segment displays. It could also be used as a period for representing text.

It's actually a very good idea, I hadn't thought of it.

This is quite the useful feature, but I think also having a customization for how many segments can also be good too.
