The new JVM option to use compact object headers (https://openjdk.org/jeps/519) should save significant RAM for OPAL.
Note that
-XX:+IgnoreUnrecognizedVMOptionsis necessary to keep compatibility with older JVMs.Note also that
javaOptionsare only applied to forked VMs, which is why we enforcefork := truenow for all subprojects.
